Through long practices, many dives, flips, and endless laps the girls persevered. This year’s team is made up of 14 girls who simply love this sport. Ending their season with a 3-5 record in the New Jersey Interscholastic Conference, Immaculate Conception High School ranked 6th out of the teams in their division.
Freshman Chastity Ruatos led the team by placing 4th overall in the 500 Freestyle along with junior, Tatiana Sawka who placed 4th overall in the 100 Breaststroke. Senior captains, Mary Flood and Natalie Delgado, reflected on the season and said, “Throughout this season, this team has pushed themselves past their limits. We are very proud for the achievements of these girls, both individually and as a team. We couldn’t have asked for a better team to be a part of and lead!”
The ladies who make up this team and their coach have become more than just a team, but a family. A family who pushes each other beyond their limits to succeed; a family who encourages you during your highs and lifts you up during your lows. With their hard work and dedication, they went from being an underdog to a contender in the race.
