Immaculate Conception High School Gala Dinner Honors Distinguished Bergen County Supporters
(River Vale, NJ) The annual Immaculate Conception High School Gala Dinner took place on Friday, March 8, 2019 at the Estate at Florentine Gardens. Shining bright, the ICHS community joined together to celebrate this year’s Hall of Fame honorees and to celebrate the following outstanding individuals for their unyielding commitment to ICHS. George Abaunza, PhD (Dean of Arts and Sciences, Felician University) Sister Cynthia Marie Babyak, CSSF ’63 (Bishop George Ahr High School, Campus Minister) Kelly Blanchfield ’05 (Federal Bureau of Investigation) Pat Lippoczy Hedley ’79 (Advisor, Investor, Author) Lisa Marie Latino (Executive Producer, Longshot Productions) Elizabeth Medrano (ICHS Foreign Language Teacher) Albert H. Wunsch, III (Attorney)
“The award recipients are history makers, dreamers, and believers in the mission and core values of ICHS.” shared Joseph R. Azzolino, President/Principal. As master of ceremonies, Mr. Azzolino kept the audience captivated and entertained throughout the evening. From heartfelt speeches to tears and laughter; it was a truly extraordinary night.
The evening also featured “Shooting Star” awards. The Shooting Star Award was created to spotlight current ICHS students for their amazing energy, creative spirit, and unwavering commitment to the Felician Core Values. The students who received the awards were Seniors, Gabriela Alvarez, Gillian Dwyer, and Maya Schilp; Juniors, Faith Camilleri, Gabriella Gil, and Kangela Guerrero; and Sophomores, Jordan Roloff and Roselyn Sandiford.
As a special surprise, the night’s highest honor, The Centennial Award, was presented to Sister Mary Bridget Becker, CSSF ’63, ICHS alumna and member of the Board of Trustees. With an impressive turn-out of over 200 guests and community support from the following sponsors, Bergen Catholic High School, Lisa C. Buono ’75, Don Bosco Prep High School, Felician Service, Inc., Felician Sisters of North America, Inc., Pat Lippoczy Hedley ’79, Wanda Huderski ’67, Joan Leicht ’59, Machinery Services Corp., Suzanne Weir, and Albert Wunsch, III; the evening ended with a closing prayer by campus minister, Sister Alexander Marie Siegel, CSSF. “So many people have put heart and soul into ICHS and to honor them as well as our Felician Sisters was just magical. It is heartwarming to know that there are so many kind souls in the world. ICHS is truly blessed and we are already looking forward to next year’s gala celebration”, Joseph R.
