Meet Sergeant Lynette Shaw

ICHS kicked off another extraordinary school year with its Faculty and Staff Professional Development Series. On September 4, 2020, ICHS faculty and staff members had the opportunity to receive a powerful and informative Mental Health and Diversity Training from Sergeant Lynette Shaw, founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Lynn Shaw Group (Shaw Training Solutions LLC).

Lynette Shaw has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, and is certified in Crisis Intervention and is a 1national trainer for the  Mental Health First Aid USA. For the last 14 years, she has served as Coordinator for the Passaic County Crisis Intervention  Team. After the training was completed, all faculty and staff members received a three year certification in Youth Mental Health Training for Educators, and are now trained to provide initial help in youth crisis who may be experiencing a mental health issue.

Mr. Azzolino exclaimed, “Lynette is knowledgeable, passionate and believes in the importance of transforming the lives of men, women and children in the field of mental health services and awareness.  I have served as a school administrator for over two decades.  With that experiential knowledge, I can say with confidence that it is not often that I have had an opportunity to meet an individual who has the combination of energy, and drive coupled with the raw talent necessary to make a lasting impression on me. Sergeant Lynette Shaw is a professional who has done just that. I wholeheartedly recommend her to speak at all arenas!”

1Mrs. Jessica Cutrona, Associate Head of School and Dean of Student Life added, “At ICHS we take mental health very seriously. Sergeant Lynette Shaw is an incredible and engaging speaker. Her background in psychology along with her experience in crisis intervention, mental health, and law enforcement truly brought her training to life. Given her impressive work ethic and keen skills, I believe that she is a tremendous asset to the ICHS community but also to the world. We are so incredibly grateful to have been trained by someone of her caliber!” To learn more about Lynette Shaw, please click here
