ICHS Core Values Reach Far Beyond Our Halls

With the guidance of Arlene Sklarski, ICHS Religion Teacher, the students planned a collection for the troops. From shampoo to soap to other personal care items; the school donated an overwhelming amount of products. The Community Service Club members arranged, packed, and shipped two oversized boxes to Support Our Troops as well as a $30 donation check.

The Support Our Troops Care Packs enhance the morale and welfare of the deployed troops worldwide. The ICHS donations were sent to many units overseas who requested care packages from home.

The service project was an outcome of Carly DiSclafani’s ’17 participation in the Felician Seeds of Hope Program. The program encourages leadership and is sponsored by the Felician Sisters of North America.

Arlene shared, “I’m reminded of a wonderful quote that sums up the feelings for this project “Good leaders must first become good servants. by Robert Greenleaf”
