Immaculate Conception High School Celebrates the 104th Commencement Ceremony on June 8, 2019

61 extraordinary young women from the Class of 2019 received their diplomas from President/Principal Joseph R. Azzolino. The commencement address was delivered by Denise Poulos King ’89.  Denise spoke about her years at ICHS and what it means to be an alumna. “This school is your second home and always will be.”

Caylee English ’19, Valedictorian, shared words of advice for the Class of 2019, “Let us bring our ICHS sisterhood into the world and let us show the world who we are. Girls compete, but women empower. We are all women of ICHS.”
while Rachel Zegler ’19 presented the Salutatorian address with “shares with her fellow classmates, “Underneath it all we are all blue wolves, no matter where we go. Keep your fiery spirits as you go forward in this world.” Abigail Matejko-Lima ‘19 welcomed parents and friends with the invocation, while Tiffany Cortez ’19 concluded the commencement with the benediction.  Special music for the ceremony was performed by the ICHS vocal ensemble. ICHS alumnae played an important role in the ceremony including over 25 members of the Class of 1969 processing in with the graduates as part of the ICHS 50th Reunion Year Legacy Walk tradition.

Victoria Veloz-Vicioso ‘19 was the recipient of the 2019 Felician Core Value award for “solidarity with the poor” and she was also the recipient of the Blessed Mary Angela Award.

“The Class of 2019 has been given the educational foundation to become confident and compassionate world citizens. We are beyond proud of their achievements and look forward to sharing their greatness with the world. Whether you were at ICHS for four years, three years, two years, or one year, you are all extraordinary ladies and embody the true Felician spirit!” shared, Joseph R. Azzolino, President/Principal.

ICHS Class of 2019 graduates plan to continue their education at colleges and universities throughout the United States including St. John’s University, Penn State University, Sacred Heart University, Rutgers University, Pace University, Seton Hall University, Montclair State University, Felician University, University of Hartford, and many more.
