Transformation & Excitement Ahead!

Dear ICHS Community,

Immaculate Conception High School is excited to share the transitioning of roles in the Business Administrative Office for the 2022-2023 school year.

Mrs. Dorothy Laverty  has served as the School Business Administrator for ten remarkable years.  She has dedicated an enormous amount of time, passion, and effort to help enhance various aspects of the school’s operating budget and overall function. In that role, she has brought organization and procedures into the Business Office that have prepared the school for  many years to come. She has identified and applied for federal, state, and business grants which ICHS has received, and continues to explore other outside grants for ICHS to further enhance the programs for our  students.

She works closely with other administrators on many different projects – for example, better methods of transportation, now serving over 20% of our students and our athletic programs. She has introduced our own Food Services Department and established ordering and payment processes that have streamlined and modernized our programs, and implemented  many accounting procedures that have helped ICHS become eligible for additional outside grants and other funding. Mrs. Laverty is kind, motivated, driven and it has been an absolute pleasure to work with her.

On July 1, 2022, Mrs. Laverty retired as the School Business Administrator, and transitioned to a part-time position in the Business Office. She will continue to collaborate with the administrative team and the new Business Administrator to ensure the future success of ICHS.

ICHS would like to thank Dorothy for her years of service and we are excited to have Andrea F. Porter join our team, as the new Business Administrator!

Prior to joining ICHS, Andrea served a dual role as both the Service Desk Coordinator/Manager and the Executive Coordinator for the Information, Resources and Technology division at the Borough of Manhattan Community College, in NYC. There she received 18 Information Technology Certifications, and recruited, trained and supported service desk representatives and technicians. Andrea balanced all operations of the service desk, which included creating monthly and quarterly budget reports, while managing the service desk staff, to ensure service level agreements were met. She played a critical role in delivering frontline technical support for faculty, staff, students, alumni and partners, and represented the team at stakeholder’s meetings, which helped to ensure that the service desk is constantly improving and developing through enhanced policies and procedures.

Before joining BMCC, Andrea held positions in the Philanthropic sector as a Program Related Investment (PRI) Associate, and Executive Coordinator for over 12 years. Her team’s priorities were to assist in grant making for Impact the Investing, Innovation and PRI initiatives. She is a Cum Laude graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University, and when describing why she chose to apply for the School Business Administrator position at IC, she stated “I’m super excited to join the Immaculate Conception High School staff as School Business Administrator! ICHS has held a special place in my heart since my daughter began her freshman year in 2011. This institution is a place where every student is challenged, and supported to achieve their goals, and also a place where every young lady is known well, cared for, respected, and most importantly-part of a family. I’m very grateful for this opportunity.”

Please join us in congratulating Dorothy and Andrea as they begin their new journeys!

Peace and all good,

Mrs. Jessica Cutrona
