This summer, Denise King ’21 continued to uphold our core values and commitment to service as the Vice President of the Charles Seller Foundation!

The Charles Seller Foundation, based in Bloomfield, New Jersey, has been serving the community for over 70 years. Each summer, the organization produces and performs a musical in which the proceeds go towards someone in the area with high medical bills. As Vice President, it was Denise’s responsibility to find this year’s beneficiary.
At the turn of the new year, Denise found Genesis “Gigi” Marrero. Gigi, a five-year-old little girl, was born with a rare brain condition called Holoprosencephaly. Her condition manifests in a way similar to cerebral palsy, affecting her ability to talk and walk. Gigi’s mother, Lisa, describes Gigi as her “miracle baby”.
This summer, the Charles Seller Foundation put on an incredibly successful production of The Addams Family and hosted a variety of other fundraisers over the course of the year for the benefit of Gigi! In the fall, Denise will be continuing to pursue her passion for theater, majoring in Contemporary Theater Practices at Rider University.
Keep an eye out for the Charles Seller Foundation in the coming year and best of luck to Denise in all her future endeavors!
