Coach Carlos Guzman comes to the Immaculate Conception staff bringing lots of knowledge and experience. The Brooklyn, NY native attended John Adams High School in Queens, NY where he was a 4 year starter. In those 4 years he was named All American, All State, All City, Queens’ Player of the Year (2004) & runner up for NYC Player of the Year. He holds multiple records such as homeruns, hits & RBIs.
Carlos played one year at Western Oklahoma State where he earned All Conference & All American honors. He then went on to play at Brookdale Community College where he helped lead them to a college World Series appearance, earning All American, All Conference and All World Series 1st team honors.
Carlos spent 5 years with the NY Mets, starting at rookie ball, all the way through AAA. The 12 year professional spent his career playing for NY Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, York Revolution, Somerset Patriots, Rockland Boulders, Newark Bears, New Jersey Jackals, Les Aigles de Trois Riviere & Camden RiverSharks. He also spent winters in Latin America playing in Dominican Republic, Venezuela , Colombia & Mexico. Carlos finished his career with over 1100 hits. Participating in 5 All-Star Games, Home Run Derby & tacking on 5 All-Defensive 1st Team nominations.
Carlos is the owner/founder of Hot Korner Sports in Lyndhurst, NJ. Carlos has been working with some of New York/New Jersey top notch hitters (Baseball & Softball). He has been giving private lessons for 12 years now. Ages ranging from 4 – 22.
