IC You Driving Safe!

The U Got Brains effort was spearheaded by Chanelle Banta, ICHS health/physical education teacher. Schools all over NJ applied and ICHS was a chosen winner for their safe driving program. Participating schools receive a $750 stipend and will also be given the opportunity to win 1 of 3 driving simulators and other runners up prizes. The showcase event for all  schools participating and their safe driving efforts throughout the school year will be displayed at Six Flags on May 25, 2017.

Throughout the year the girls will also be working hand in hand with Hackensack UMC to advocate for safe driving principles by the use of bi-monthly seat belt checks, student made PSAs, posters, etc. “I’m so proud of our girls for showing interest in the program and they are excited to be helping to keep new drivers safe.” shared Chanelle. ICHS students have created positive messages and safe driving suggestions under the title, ‘IC You Driving Safe! and will be using the hashtag #ICYDS on all social media posts. (Twitter and Facebook)
