As part of week-long events to commemorate its Franciscan heritage and to experience a night of solidarity with the poor, 25 students and six chaperones at Immaculate Conception High School in Lodi recently participated in "A Night On The Street."

The girls slept outdoors for one night, with a single cardboard box as shelter – creating a "Box Village," and using only a sleeping bag or blanket to keep warm on the cold night. The girls didn't have access to have cell phones, iPods or any other electronic devices. No food or drinks were allowed.
